Welcoming the New School Year – Looking Ahead to the 80th Anniversary of Vietnam’s Independence
Dear Parents and Students,
The 2025–2026 school year begins at a sacred moment in time, as our nation prepares to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam — now the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. This is not only a historic milestone, but also a meaningful reminder for today’s younger generation of our nation’s proud journey. For our students, it is a call to carry this legacy forward through knowledge and meaningful action.
At H.A.S., every school year begins with a belief: that each school day is not only a time to gain knowledge, but also a journey for students to better understand themselves — what they love, what they dream of, and who they want to become.
We believe that to grow into independent, responsible individuals, each student needs a warm heart and an open, curious mind.

“Vietnam in My Heart” is a gentle reminder for every student and family to treasure the values of Vietnam — the place where we grow up, where love for our families, childhood memories, and national pride nurture us each day.
At the same time, H.A.S. hopes that from that warm heart, our students will find the courage to step out into the world. “The World in My Mind” is not only an encouragement to dream big, to question, to discover new knowledge, and to build global competencies, but also a reminder to care deeply about others, about nature, and about our planet. In light of what is happening around the world, this is also our hope for a peaceful future and a shared commitment to protecting our environment and the Earth we live on.
The theme for the 2025–2026 school year, “Vietnam in My Heart, the World in My Mind”, will serve as the guiding principle for all learning activities, events, and experiences at H.A.S. — with one shared goal: nurturing a strong Vietnamese identity while developing global thinking, integration skills, and a spirit of service.
In academics, students will take part in a wide range of interdisciplinary projects connected to the environment, culture, and society, such as:
-
Integrating content about Vietnam and global understanding into each subject area.
-
Designing projects at each grade level that apply knowledge to solve real-world problems related to our country and community — such as Flood Prevention Models, Clean Water for Mountainous Areas, Sustainable Tourism, and AI Applications to Support People with Disabilities.
Through these experiences, students will develop essential 21st-century skills: critical thinking, collaboration, independent research, reflection, and the ability to express and defend their viewpoints.
In community activities, students and teachers will work together to implement:
-
Environmental protection and recycling projects; No Plastic campaigns
-
Charity initiatives and community fundraising
-
Programs that support animal care and community-based teaching
These experiences help students understand their social responsibilities and the role they play as active citizens.
In extracurricular activities and school events, students will be inspired through:
-
The “Proud to Be Vietnamese – Looking Out to the World” Forum
-
The “Vietnamese Citizens – Global Vision” Project
-
Creative competitions such as “Telling Vietnam’s Stories” in both Vietnamese and English
-
Learning exhibitions, small-scale research projects, and platforms to share their dreams
At H.A.S., we believe that “Vietnam in My Heart, the World in My Mind” is not just a slogan — it is a meaningful journey of growth that each student experiences every day.
Together, we begin a new chapter filled with love, determination, and the desire to reach greater heights. We believe that when a student carries Vietnam in their heart and the world in their mind, they will have the strength to step into the world, the humility to learn, the courage to create change, and the compassion to live a purposeful life.
We wish all our students an inspiring, strong, and joyful school year ahead!
