In the final days of the Autumn-Winter semester, teachers and students of Hanoi Adelaide School embarked on a 2-day, 1-night journey “To the Land of Heroes” – an emotionally rich trip where each stop left a memorable impression.

The journey began in the tranquil and solemn atmosphere of the Chu Van An Temple. Amidst the fragrant incense, nearly 200 junior high school students and teachers respectfully offered incense, commemorating the exemplary teacher of Vietnamese education – a man who dedicated his entire life to scholarship and human character. After the ceremony, HASians had the opportunity to listen to stories about the place where Teacher Chu Van An once lived in seclusion and taught; The historical ups and downs of the site through various dynasties serve as a vivid testament to the age-old tradition of learning.

Leaving that tranquil space, the journey continues with colorful learning experiences – where history and culture are no longer confined to books but are present in every activity. Water puppet performances transport HASians back to the simple charm of the countryside, where the sounds of drums and water blend with innocent smiles. Amidst the setting of a traditional Vietnamese village with its village gate, pond, and market, HASians get to make glutinous rice dumplings themselves, experiencing the simple joy of labor and the appreciation for traditional values.

The experience continues at the pottery workshop, where small hands patiently mold the first shapes from clay, conveying creativity and the spirit of Vietnamese craftsmanship. In the calligraphy space, each stroke is written slowly, helping the children understand that words and writing are not only for learning but also for nurturing the soul.

Amidst this journey, the Autumn-Winter semester summary meeting took place as a meaningful and poignant moment. Here, teachers and students reflected on the past academic journey, acknowledging the persistent efforts of all students at Kim Lien Secondary School. In particular, the school honored students with outstanding academic achievements during the Autumn-Winter semester; and also commended HAS students who won numerous awards in competitions both inside and outside the school. The resounding applause served as encouragement, spreading a positive learning spirit and inspiring each student to continue striving and excelling in the next stage.

The journey concluded at the Bach Dang Giang Historical Site – a place where national history resonates through its sacred structures. In a solemn atmosphere, teachers and students offered incense to commemorate the national heroes: Hung Dao Dai Vuong Tran Quoc Tuan, King Ngo Quyen, King Le Hoan, and President Ho Chi Minh. Each step of the tour was an opportunity to listen, to understand, and to feel even more proud of our ancestors’ tradition of nation-building and defense.
“Returning to the Land of Heroes” concludes, carrying with it beautiful memories, growth in awareness; a strengthened national pride and a nurtured spirit of learning rooted in core values.
