The transition from kindergarten to primary school is a major milestone – not only for children but also for their parents. Beyond preparing the essential knowledge children need for Grade 1, many parents also wonder how to help their children confidently adapt to a new environment, develop independence and take initiative in their learning without constant reminders or pressure.
Being ready for Grade 1 goes beyond academic knowledge. It also means having confidence, independence and self-discipline. These are the key themes of Episode #7 of the livestream series “Learning to Be Parents”, featuring the topic: “Supporting Your Child’s Transition to Grade 1: Building Confidence, Independence and Self-Discipline Without Pressure”.

During this conversation, parents will join our two speakers to explore practical solutions to some of their biggest concerns:
- Preparing children for Grade 1 academically, emotionally and in terms of essential life skills.
- Building habits of independence and self-discipline without pressure or constant reminders.
- Staying calm and supporting children when they encounter difficulties during the transition.
- Working closely with the school to help children adapt to their new learning environment.
Special Guest Speaker: Dr. NGUYEN THI THU (AKI NGUYEN)** – PhD from the University of Tsukuba (Japan), Co-founder and Director of Training at Tsubaki Education System. Dr. Thu has spent more than 11 years living, studying and raising her child in Japan.
