Hanoi Architectural University (HAU) plans to award bonus points to applicants with strong academic transcripts while increasing incentives for candidates with IELTS certificates in its 2026 admissions cycle.
The university expects to enroll 3,590 students, nearly 400 more than last year. Three admission methods will be applied:

Admission based on the national high school graduation exam results

Admission combining graduation exam results with aptitude test scores
Compared with last year, HAU will no longer use academic transcripts (school records) as a standalone admission method. However, applicants who submit their transcripts online may still receive bonus points in several majors, based on the average scores from six semesters of subjects in the relevant subject combination.
Specifically:

+1.5 points for candidates in the top 10% of transcript scores

+1.2 points for the top 20%

+1 point for the top 30%
Additionally, candidates who win third prize or higher at the provincial level or study in specialized (gifted) classes may receive bonus points, though the total bonus will not exceed 1.5 points.
For applicants with IELTS 6.0 or higher (or equivalent) who apply to the Advanced Architecture Program, the university will award 0.8–1.5 bonus points. This incentive is 0.2 points higher than last year.
Regarding subject combinations, HAU will remove the THM combination (Mathematics, Literature, Technology) and add A01 (Mathematics, Physics, English).
Last year, the university’s admission scores ranged from 16.1 to 24.15 (out of 30) and 24.85 to 26.25 (out of 40).
