Held from August 7 to August 15, 2025, at both Kim Lien and Duong Noi campuses, this year’s Centralized Diagnostic Assessment once again affirms its role as the “starting station” — helping to clearly identify students’ entry-level competencies, thereby setting appropriate learning goals and strategies for the 2025–2026 academic year.

Assessment is not merely a test of knowledge — it is a compass that guides the learning journey

In the educational journey, assessment is not merely a check on knowledge — it serves as a compass, helping students, teachers, and parents understand the starting point in order to set appropriate goals and strategies together. At Hanoi Adelaide School, one of the most important assessment activities is the Beginning-of-Year Diagnostic Assessment — an annual event that marks the official start of each new academic year.
The Assessment activity was implemented simultaneously across both campuses of H.A.S

From August 7 to August 15, 2025, the diagnostic assessment activity officially took place across both campuses of Hanoi Adelaide School, with the participation of all students from every grade level and across all subjects.
The school applies a variety of assessment methods to provide a comprehensive reflection of each student’s capabilities

With a wide range of flexible formats such as interviews, multiple-choice tests, written responses, practical tasks, combined with mental health and emotional well-being assessments, this activity enables the school to accurately identify each student’s starting point on their personal learning map – encompassing knowledge, skills, emotions, and learning attitudes.
Diagnostic assessment aims for understanding rather than merely focusing on scores

The significance of diagnostic assessment lies not in the scores, but in helping each student understand where they are, what they need to develop, and how they will move forward in the upcoming school year. Based on this, teachers can design personalized learning plans tailored to each student — one of the core values that H.A.S consistently pursues.
The assessment results help the School, Teachers, and Parents to effectively accompany and support the students

Based on the information gathered from this activity, the School, Teachers, and Parents will gain a comprehensive and objective understanding, creating a foundation for effective collaboration to ensure that each student develops in the right direction, at the right pace, and in the right way. It can be said that the beginning-of-year diagnostic assessment is the first strategic milestone—where each HASian defines their own journey for the 2025–2026 academic year. From there, the next steps will be more stable and confident, with the ongoing support of H.A.S.
