From H.A.S to RMIT: Gia Bao and the Journey of Nurturing a Love for Learning

10:53 - 02/08/2025

A Simple Decision that Started It All

Graduating from the Vietnamese–Australian Dual Program at Hanoi Adelaide School (H.A.S) in 2024, Gia Bao – now a Graphic Design student at RMIT University – still remembers clearly the feeling of “being truly myself” during his time at H.A.S.
His meaningful learning journey began from a simple, everyday decision: “My younger brother was already studying at H.A.S, so my mother felt reassured and decided to enroll me at the same school.” But the more he studied, the more Bao realized that H.A.S was a truly different learning environment—both comfortable and challenging in ways that helped him grow in his own direction.

When Every Lesson Sparks Inspiration

With a natural interest in Science, Bao was especially drawn to the Mathematical Methods taught at H.A.S: “The content was fresh and went beyond dry textbook theory.” During his 2.5 years in the SACE program, Bao’s favorite class was Research Project with Mr. Joel—who made the lessons dynamic and easy to understand. In Math Methods, Bao was especially grateful to Mr. Phan for his clear explanations and supportive teaching style.

“SACE teachers at H.A.S prepare lessons very thoroughly. They don’t just teach what’s in the books, but also bring in external sources and new perspectives. Every lesson felt engaging and fresh. When I struggled, the teachers always helped me catch up in detail.”

Learning Not Just to Pass, But to Grow

Unlike traditional education models, the Vietnamese–Australian Dual Program at H.A.S places less emphasis on exams. Instead, students are assessed continuously through assignments, tasks, and projects that help develop essential competencies such as:

  • Self-directed learning

  • Time management

  • Critical thinking

A Supportive Learning Environment Where Everyone Matters

Bao shared: “H.A.S is different from any other school I’ve known. The atmosphere is more relaxed and flexible. The class sizes are small, so every student receives attention. Teachers and friends are all friendly and supportive. Every student has the chance to express their individuality and follow a path that suits them. No one is left behind.”

From H.A.S to RMIT – Moving Forward with Confidence

With his Dual Program diploma, Gia Bao qualified for admission to several universities both in Vietnam and abroad. He chose RMIT University, an innovative and modern environment that aligns perfectly with the learning style and passion he developed during his years at H.A.S.

We would like to thank Gia Bao and his family for choosing to grow with H.A.S. We wish you continued confidence, strength, and passion as you journey forward with your talent, personality, and dreams.
