There are things that seem very small: a smile, a handshake, a moment of peace, yet these are the silent “sources of energy” that nourish the soul of each child. Happiness, therefore, is not something distant, but begins with the ability to feel and appreciate the simple things around us.

At Hanoi Adelaide School, happiness is not just an emotion, but a capacity that can be learned and nurtured. Based on the Social-Emotional Education (SEL) framework and the PERMA model, students are guided to understand themselves, manage their emotions, and build positive connections.

Continuing in that spirit, the Flourish learning project for the 2025-2026 school year opened up an inspiring space – where each HASian could “touch” happiness in their own unique way. Students together engaged in creative activities, creating paintings about happiness using items found at the farm. Each leaf, branch, or small object carried a story, cherished and transformed into meaningful works of art. Along with this, diverse activity stations such as painting, jigsaw puzzles, card games, and “stations of love” provided opportunities for students to learn, play, and feel. There, they learned to cooperate, share, and spread positive emotions.

The journey concluded with postcards titled “My Happy Day Diary” – a way to preserve beautiful emotions, meaningful moments, and learn to appreciate their own journey of growth.

“Flourish” is when each student develops holistically, learns to live positively, connect with others, and discover their own value.
