Returning to Hanoi Adelaide School three years after graduation, Ha An – an alumna from the Class of 2022 and a second-generation graduate of the Dual Degree Program – was deeply moved. Walking through the familiar hallways and seeing the lively atmosphere during recess, she felt as though she was looking at her high school self again: a young girl full of energy and ambition, yet carrying many questions about the future.
Leaving H.A.S with two diplomas in hand – the Vietnamese High School Diploma and the Australian Diploma, along with an impressive ATAR score – Ha An confidently embarked on her journey at the University of Canberra with a 25% scholarship. Her three years at university were both challenging and transformative. After graduating with a major in Corporate & Public Communication, she has now received a full-time job offer from an Australian Government agency, officially beginning her professional career in Australia.
Looking back, An believes that the most valuable thing she gained was not only academic achievements, but also the strong foundation of skills and mindset developed early on: academic research capabilities, public speaking confidence, effective communication skills, and especially time management while balancing multiple goals at once. These skills accompanied her throughout university, helping her take initiative in her studies, confidently seize opportunities, and stay ready for new challenges.
For Ha An, the journey from H.A.S to an international university and a professional working environment was not a path paved with roses, but a series of days defined by courage and determination. It was her willingness to step forward and conquer challenges that opened promising new doors for her future.
