Menu – Nutrition

Hanoi Adelaide School provides both day and boarding meal services for students, with all meals prepared onsite in a modern one-way kitchen that ensures food safety and hygiene. Meal plans are nutritionally balanced in accordance with recommendations from the National Institute of Nutrition.

Food Sources

All ingredients are carefully selected from reputable suppliers, with full certifications for food safety and clear origin traceability. The school minimizes the use of pre-packaged, pre-cooked, or frozen food. Emphasis is placed on using fresh, seasonal ingredients to ensure both the quality of meals and students’ health.

Portion Sizes & Nutritional Balance

Meal portions are designed to meet the nutritional needs of students at each developmental stage. Each meal ensures a healthy balance across key nutritional groups, including animal and plant-based proteins, fats, vitamins, and minerals. Menus are seasonally adapted while maintaining full nutritional value.

Meal Organization & Service Options

Students dine in the school cafeteria under the supervision of teachers and campus service staff. Attendance is monitored via the school’s camera system or student ID cards, with meal check-in data updated in real time on the HFE app.

Families may choose the meal plan that best suits their child’s needs (with or without breakfast). High school students may also bring personal meals and have access to microwave ovens and refrigerators in the cafeteria.

Menus

Weekly menus feature a variety of flavorful dishes, highlighting Northern Vietnamese cuisine, along with selected regional and international options. Menus are posted in advance via the HFE app. For students with food allergies, the school provides suitable alternative meals upon request.

Special Events

Throughout the school year, the school organizes buffet-style meals on special occasions such as Lunar New Year (Tết), Mid-Autumn Festival, and International Women’s Day. These events help students become familiar with buffet dining etiquette and develop communication and social skills in a celebratory setting.

Additional Services

In addition to main meals, the school operates a cafeteria kiosk offering beverages and light snacks during break times, meeting the diverse needs and preferences of students throughout the day.
